COVID-19 Response

  /  COVID-19 Response

Lockdown brought a lot of uncertainty about the future, We at Buddy Cabs since day one of the lockdown were proactive and looking ahead to somehow turn the events in a manner in which WE can make a difference in someone's life. Caring and sharing was the need of the hour. In any case we at Buddy Cabs always had the ethos of working with 'Seva Bhav.

It was on 24 March 2020 that the Prime Minister announced a total lockdown bringing the whole country to a grinding halt. All those in who were jiling and poor had a tough road ahead. With the transport system across the country shut, we at Buddy Cabs thought of starting to provide mobility to those in need. On march 25th itself we tied up with Fortis Hospital Mohali to transfer patients undergoing regular Chemotherapy and dialysis sessions through our cabs. It was an uphill task to motivate our team and drivers on the second day of the lockdown itself to get their act together for this noble cause. Of course their protection was first and foremost in addition to the health and well being of those we were transporting.

Wheelchair Accessible Taxi
Within next 48 hours with the assistance of Mohali administration we received the permission for essential transport of patient’s throughout punjab duly attested by DC Mohali. Somewhere enroute the cases of those requiring rations started increasing as the lockdown progressed. We all at Buddy Cabs provided 100kg of flour, 50 Its of cooking oil, 100 kg Sugar ad 100 kg rice to the needy during lockdown over the next few weeks and by God’s grace all this was voluntarily forthcoming.

Now our brave Armed Forces personal deployed safeguarding our borders despite the Corona Pandemic, needed to make available some facility for the soldiers proceeding on emergency leave to their homes. With not a single means of transport available in the country, we offered our services to transport the brave to their homes anywhere in the country notwithstanding the distance of thousands of kilometres between them and their loved ones.

We provided transport facility for army personnels starting from Chandigarh initially and gradually as the demand increased our strength increased and we started operations for defence personnel pan India, helping every army personnel reach their home in emergencies and report back to duty as per their requirement.

During this journey we raised funds for a army jawan to be transported approx 2500 kms away from his duty station since he had lost a dear one at home. Next in line as the opening of lockdown was nowhere in sight, was the requirement of providing transport solution to our serving soldiers to report back to duty through a safe means. We again rose to the occasion and pressed sanitised buses into action to pick up soldiers directly from their homes and dropping them at unit locations. All this while we made sure that the drivers are checked regularly for symptoms, wear masks, carry sanitisers, sanitise vehicles and ensured only essential transfer of patients and army personnel. We extended our services to pan India during the lockdown.

We are immensely grateful to our forces for their service to the nation!
